Arctic Wolf Hunt – An Unmatched Northern Adventure

Imagine yourself in the stark and wild beauty of the Arctic tundra, surrounded by miles of pristine snow and endless skies. Here, the air is crisp, and the silence is only broken by the occasional howl of the Arctic wolf—a true apex predator of the north.

Meet the Arctic Wolf

These wolves are giants of their species, with full-grown males reaching up to 175 pounds and standing 25 to 31 inches at the shoulder. Their coats are stunningly diverse, showcasing colors from rich red and gray to pure white and deep black, blending effortlessly with the tundra. Their resilient nature allows them to survive weeks without food, sub-zero temperatures, and even two months of near-total darkness. Truly a creature born of this rugged land.

Your Journey Begins

Your hunt begins in Yellowknife, where we’ll set out across the famed ice roads of the Northwest Territories and Nunavut. These roads, celebrated on "Ice Road Truckers," grant access to otherwise unreachable landscapes, where caribou roam and wolves follow. You’ll feel the thrill of being deep within their domain, tracking caribou as a wolf would, navigating the vastness of the frozen north.

The Hunt

The hunt itself is a pulse-pounding experience. You’ll stalk, chase, or lie in wait, tuned in to the movements of the wolf pack. Once you spot a wolf, you and your guide will switch to snowmobiles, closing the distance to bring your target within range. The intensity of the moment builds as you lock eyes with one of the Arctic’s most formidable predators—this is the pinnacle of northern adventure.

Camp Life

After a day in the elements, you’ll return to the warmth of our comfortable, heated polar tents or simple hunting camps along the ice roads. Meals are straightforward but hearty, as you replenish with freeze-dried meals that fuel you for the days ahead. Each hunter is given two tags, with our primary focus on ensuring that both you and your fellow hunter achieve success.

Schedule and Logistics

You’ll meet at your hotel early in the morning, maximizing daylight hours on your first hunting day. After a week of immersion in the Arctic wilderness, you’ll return to Yellowknife, where we’ll guide you through the final steps to secure your trophy permits.

  • Season: Hunts are typically held in late April or early March, but custom options may be available.
  • Baited Hunts: For those seeking a more strategic approach, we also offer baited wolf hunts in northern Alberta, using heated blinds for added comfort.

Important Notes on Export Permits

  • Local Permits: All wildlife trophies require an export permit, either from Nunavut or NWT.
  • C.I.T.E.S. Permit: For export outside Canada, a C.I.T.E.S. permit is required. This may take up to a month to process, during which we’ll safely store your trophy until shipment.
