Hunting With Adventure Northwest
Canadian Moose Hunt – Experience the Thrill of the Northern Wilderness
Imagine drifting quietly down a wild river, surrounded by the vivid colors of fall, and inhaling the unmistakable scent of a rutting moose nearby. This is moose hunting at its finest—a journey into Alberta’s remote boreal swamplands, where the thrill of the hunt and the beauty of untouched nature collide. With expert guides by your side, you’ll learn the art of moose calling, drawing in these majestic animals with skill and precision.
Meet the Canadian Moose
Standing at an impressive six feet at the shoulder, with weights ranging from 1,100 to 1,800 lbs, these moose are true giants of the northern wilderness. Their massive antlers, grown anew each year, reach their prime at six years old, making each encounter with a mature bull a heart-pounding experience. These formidable animals are built for survival in the dense forests and wetlands of the north, equipped with powerful legs for traversing snow and muskeg, and an incredible speed of up to 34 miles per hour in short bursts.
A True Wilderness Hunt
Our hunt camp sits south of the Northwest Territories border, in some of Alberta’s prime moose territory. Thanks to its remote, pristine location, this area is home to trophy-sized bulls that regularly make the Boone and Crockett record book. You’ll spend six full days hunting in these vast swamplands, guided through thick brush, swampy bogs, and dense forests where the action is close-range and intense—ideal for bow hunting enthusiasts. As you track moose, you may encounter black bears and wolves, making every moment unpredictable and exhilarating.
The camp itself offers more than just hunting; it’s an immersion in wilderness living. Comfortable canvas tents provide a cozy retreat, and you’ll be treated to hearty meals, including fresh moose and small game. Each evening, you’ll share stories of the day’s adventures around a warm fire, fueling up for the next day’s pursuit.
Legendary Trophy Hunts
In this northern habitat, seeing 50″+ bulls with tall racks and numerous points is common. The size, strength, and stealth of these moose make each sighting a heart-stopping moment. Imagine the thrill as you call in a massive bull, the crisp autumn air alive with the sounds of the hunt, and the pounding anticipation as the moose draws closer. It’s an experience unlike any other, offering hunters a chance to secure one of the world’s most coveted trophies.
